Learn to Read Tarot: Justice

Justice is a Major Arcana card.  As such it signifies important influences in your life to which you should pay attention.  When you first start to learn to read tarot you’ll find it much easier to understand the important areas of a tarot layout by looking for the Major Arcana cards, like Justice.

Justice is the 11^th card in the tarot deck, which breaks down to the number 2.  In numerology this refers to a waiting period before your wish can find a conclusion.  However, you may find some success now to tide you over until your wish is completed. 

The meaning of the Tarot Card

Justice is all about finding a moral balance.  You may be taking responsibility for your actions or looking for harmony in life.  The Justice card is also important for those who want to learn to read tarot. 

It can indicate legal dealings or legal matters so be sure to ask yourself what’s happening in your current legal affairs.  It can be a way of warning you to find a balance between good and bad.  Stay on the proper side of the law. 

It’s telling you to find a balance.  That can apply to any area of your life, such as work and play, strict diet and overindulgence. 

Justice can also indicate a need to evaluate your situation.  Try taking an objective look at your wish or the topic of your tarot layout.  Are you too close to the matter to think rationally about it?

Description of the Card

The Justice card features a woman sitting on a throne.  As you’ve continue to learn to read tarot you’ll have noticed that she’s sitting between two pillars in a manner that’s similar to The High Priestess and The Hierophant.  The pillars stand for light and dark or positive and negative forces. 

The woman will be holding a sword that is double-edged and cuts both ways.  In her left hand are scales that are traditional symbols of justice.  They seek to weigh and find balance. 

In addition, you’ll note that the woman’s eyes are wide open so that she can see everything.  Nothing gets by Justice and eventually everything is weighed and balanced. 

Special Advice: You may be stuck in a waiting period.  Look for balance in your life.  The problems you face will be resolved one by one and eventually your waiting period will come to an end.
