You can learn tarot reading in a few minutes or a few years. This is really a media that you can start taking advantage of in just a few minutes, but if you want to be really good at it and know all the possible meanings for a card and layouts you can easily spend years learning that too!

Get yourself a tarot deck and a tarot interpretation book to start. The book will have basic meanings for all the cards, directions on shuffling and even a couple of layouts you can start using. From there you can use these five sections of information to learn tarot reading in just five easy steps.

1. Major Arcana/Minor Arcana

Each tarot deck comes with both the Major Arcana and the Minor Arcana. They are two separate decks within the decks. All you need to remember about these two sections is;

Major Arcana cards are more important than the Minor Arcana. They indicate important areas in your life and your future when they show up. They also focus on providing answers and truths to broad questions in your life, such as when you are going through a transformation or change or when you should focus more on being temperate and keep all things in moderation.

Minor Arcana cards are the nitty, gritty details. They'll help answer questions about your day to day life and give specifics that the Major Arcana cards can't focus on. They are also associated with numerology and astrology, so you can make use of your knowledge in those subjects to add more depth to the reading.

2. Wands, Cups, Swords and Pentacles

The Minor Arcana cards are divided into four groups;

· Wands, rods or staves, · Cups or bowls, · Swords and · Pentacles or coins.

What each group is called varies from deck to deck but they all correspond to one of the four elements, wind, water, fire and earth and their essential meanings.

Wands are Wind, and so relate to Ideas Cups are Water and so relate to Emotions Swords are Fire and so relate to Actions Pentacles are Earth and so relate to Materialism

When you get a lot of Wands in a layout then you know that your situation deals a lot with ideas or needs a lot of thought to figure out. If you are getting a lot of Pentacles then you are focused on getting money or finding stability.

3. The Aces Have it

Aces are good for figuring out the time of year when a major event is going to happen. Whenever an Ace pops up in your reading you'll have an indicator of the time period when the predicted events are going to occur.

Ace of Wands: Fall Ace of Cups: Summer Ace of Fire: Winter Ace of Pentacles: Spring

4. A Numbers Game

Numerology also figures into the reading, when you learn tarot reading you'll find yourself automatically checking the meanings of the tarot card numbers in each layout.

1: Inspiration or beginning a situation 2: Learn or a time when things are coming together 3: Expression or group activities 4: Materialize or a time when past efforts yield results 5: Change or period of up and down cycles 6: Balance or an adjustment to past changes 7: Faith or a period of solitude 8: Power or a positive change 9: Completion or nearing the end of a situation

If you have a tarot card with a ten or higher number simply add those two numbers together to get your essential number and find its numerological meaning.
